The standard Print Release function allows users to send and store documents to a main MFP, which acts as a server, allowing print jobs to be securely released at up to five connected network-ready devices. Optional workflow enhancing features include Single Sign-On cloud connectivity, mobile connectivity via Wi-Fi and USB direct printing of MS Office files.

A tiltable 10.1”colour LCD touchscreen provides the ability to drag and drop frequently used icons for simple customisation of the home screen. Everyday operation is simple and intuitive; just touch, tap, pinch and spread or swipe for instant access to every feature, function and setting including an advanced preview feature.

Print and copy speeds of up to 50 ppm in colour and black & white, a built-in 100-sheet Reversing Single Pass Feeder and a scan speed of up to 80 ipm all help to boost efficiency and productivity; while 600 x 600 dpi print resolution, our auto process control and developer refresh system ensure consistently high image quality. A maximum paper capacity of 6,300 sheets and support for a wide range of media (up to SRA3 and 300 gsm) enables this device to handle varied output requirements with ease. And a variety of finishing options such as saddle stitching, manual and stapleless stapling add further versatility.

The Energy Star-certified Sharp MX-5050 uses Sharp’s latest energy-saving technology. A rapid warm up time, low power consumption and low TEC value all aim to save money and support your environmental objectives. In addition, the automatic toner cartridge eject function ensures all toner has been consumed, thereby saving resources.

There are five cloud-capable models to choose from: the high performance MX-6050N and the Sharp MX-5050, which print and copy at an impressive 60 and 50 pages per minute (ppm), our mid-range 40 and 35 ppm MX-4050N and MX-3550N or, the 30 ppm MX-3050N for smaller workgroups.

These versatile MFPs can act as print servers to give you ‘Pull Printing’ capability. This means that you can send a print job to your chosen device or use ‘Print Release’ to print your documents from another networked MFP, in the same range,at a time and location that’s convenient to you. Not only does that give you the flexibility of collecting your output when you want but it also protects against sensitive documents being left out in the open.

If you have Microsoft Office files on a USB memory stick you can simply plug into the MFP, select your files and start printing*. Scanning to the memory stick, or to the cloud or for immediate output, is just as easy.

Our unique auto process control and developer refresh system work together to deliver page after page of consistently superior quality, and the Auto Colour Mode lets you scan and copy colour documents without the need to fine-tune any settings. We’ve even added integrated web browsing. There’s nothing to learn and even the most advanced controls can be mastered in moments.

Advanced Functionality

We’re all used to accessing data and documents from our phones, tablets and notebooks. But now you can print from them, too. Simply add the wireless LAN and Postscript options and use Sharpdesk Mobile to print from your mobile device, or use any App that supports Google Cloud Print or the Android printing framework (Sharp Print Service Plugin). Plus, we’ve added yet another connectivity breakthrough for making life easier for mobile workers: AirPrint technology broadcasts a signal to iPhone, iPad, and Mac environments, so the user knows that a nearby MFP is available. We’ve added a Single Sign-On capability, too. That means that your team members can sign on at the control panel for immediate access to their favourite cloud applications and storage services, including Google DriveTM, OneDrive® and SharePoint® Online, without having to re-enter their log in details. Printing directly from the cloud and scanning documents from the MFP up to the cloud has never been easier. And mail service connectors conveniently send scanned data directly to recipients in your GmailTM or Microsoft Exchange account.

Tough security

Sharp MFPs come with robust security features, such as the encryption and secure erasure of data on the hard disk (automatically as well as on-demand), password controlled access for routine user authentication and a useful Data Initialisation feature to erase data from your MFP when the time comes to replace it. For even greater security, a third party card reader adds tighter access control, and a secure network interface, SSL, IPsec and port-based network protection defend against the most determined attacks. We even help you prevent the unauthorised copying, scanning, faxing and filing of confidential documents, with our Document Control Function*. We guard against accidents too, with features such as password-protected PDFs, a Hidden Pattern Print feature which can reveal a watermark and Confidential PIN Printing which requires the user to be present at the MFP before printing begins. All this, plus S/MIME for secure email communications, advanced data protection and high security logins and user authentication.

Energy efficient

Low melt toner, configurable and automatic power on/off settings, Eco Scan and a shorter warm up time are just some of the many features that ensure extremely low energy consumption. In addition, the control panel display will prompt users to select the most environmentally friendly option before starting a job and the toner cartridge automatically ejects only when the toner has been fully exhausted, eliminating waste.
